Site and context

Land at Lower Road is located in the village of Chilton in Oxfordshire, south of Didcot and within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is located within the “Science Vale UK”, one of the largest employment concentrations in England. Comprising 2.49 hectares (6 acres), the site is bordered to the south and east by the existing residential edge of Chilton and to the north and west by open space and road infrastructure.

Proposals

The over-arching vision for the site is to create an attractive, high quality and sustainable new residential development that responds positively to its surroundings. The proposal for new residential development seeks to enhance access and movement to and within the site, respond to local character and provide opportunities for enhanced biodiversity.

Current status

The site is being promoted through the Local Plan process.
