Site and context

Land at Cowans Camp Depot, Oxfordshire comprises approximately 9.7 hectares (24 acres) of mixed brownfield and greenfield land. This included built form previously associated with the Ministry of Defence Infrastructure Organisation, as well as areas of undeveloped grassland. The site is defined to the north by the A420 and to the east by the existing settlement edge of Watchfield, which lies 6 miles east of Swindon.

Proposals

Our proposals at Cowans Camp successfully achieved outline planning consent for the provision of extra care housing, two learning disability homes, as well as up to 100 new residential homes. The new development provides pedestrian and cycle links with local facilities and public transport; both affordable and market housing; and a managed network of public open spaces and habitats.

Current status

Planning consent was granted for our scheme in 2014.
