Site and context
The site comprises approximately 0.08 hectares (0.2 acres) made up of two vacant former commercial properties situated along the eastern side of City Road in central Cardiff. City Road is a District Centre and serves a predominantly retail function, together with restaurants and commercial units, which creates a vibrant city frontage. Cardiff University campus is located in close proximity on Newport Road to the south west of the site.
The proposed development is for high quality student accommodation in the heart of the bustling city centre in easy walking distance of Cardiff University campus. The proposal comprises of a 11 storey student accommodation development with two flexible uses, commercial units and student reception at the ground floor, student amenity spaces and cluster flats on the upper floors with the main entrance off the corner of City Road and Shakespeare Street.
Planning consent was granted for our scheme in 2016.
