Site and context
A 0.16 hectare (0.4 acre) site in the Galway docklands adjacent to the historic Forthill cemetery, in a convenient location close to Ceannt train station. The brownfield site was a former coal yard and currently houses a lightweight industrial shelter and a small office structure. Galway is a popular tourist destination on the west coast of Ireland with a rich arts and cultural heritage, medieval city centre, waterfront setting and lively social scene.
Proposals
We are currently preparing a planning application to cater for a hotel-led scheme of circa 200 keys.
Current status
Following a refusal from An Bord Pleanála in July 2023 we are currently coordinating plans for a revised planning application for a hotel scheme.
