Amit oversees global investor relations and public affairs. Amit began his career at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley in New York and then Credit Suisse First Boston in London. In 2004 he incubated Swordfish Investments, a private equity/venture fund, and Swordfish Capital Management, an investment management company. In 2013, he was appointed Executive Chairman of Hope Construction Materials, then the UK’s largest independent building materials business before selling it to Breedon PLC where he now serves as Chairman of the board. Additionally he served on the Advisory Board of Metro Bank in the UK, and currently serves on the Board for Internationalization of Cornell University, his alma mater. He is a William Pitt Group member at Chatham House and a Gold Leaf Member of the Aspen Institute. He is Chairman of Queens Park Rangers Football Club in London. Amit was awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Theresa May in 2013, Outstanding Young Executive and Young Director of the Year in 2014.
Tareq is a co-founder of Summix and has overseen the day-to-day activities and progress of the firm since its establishment in 2006. Tareq is also a partner of Initial Capital, a leading early-stage venture capital firm. He has held finance and operational roles at a number of technology companies including Playfish, the social games company, in which he invested and served as Finance Director until its acquisition by Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA) in 2009, following which he served as VP Finance (EMEA) until 2011. Prior to Playfish, he was Finance Director at Macrospace, one of the industry’s earliest mobile games companies, subsequently merged with a US competitor, to form Glu Mobile (NASDAQ: GLUU) , where he continued in the capacity of VP Finance (EMEA) until 2006. Previously, Tareq worked in Mergers and Acquisitions at Bear Stearns (London) following qualification as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Arthur Andersen (London). He holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering (University of Reading).
Niamh joined Summix in 2016 to drive the firm’s expansion in the student accommodation and PRS sectors where she is responsible for all aspects of origination and execution of investments. Prior to Summix, Niamh founded and ran NOC Consultancy, an independent advisory firm to property investors, developers and construction companies. She was previously the Head of Business Development and co-owner of TPI Limited, a UK based Project Management firm and Quantity Surveyor. Niamh started her career in the construction industry in the Cayman Islands. She holds a BA (Hons) in French Literature from University College London.
Shukri is a co-founder of Summix and has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since its establishment in 2006. Shukri is also a partner and co-founder of Initial Capital, a leading early-stage venture capital firm and serves on the boards of several of its portfolio companies. Previously, he was Chairman, Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder of Playfish, a leading developer of social games, up to the company’s acquisition by Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA) in November 2009. Before Playfish, he was Managing Director and Co-Founder of Macrospace which merged with Sorrent to become Glu Mobile (NASDAQ:GLUU), a global publisher of mobile games. Prior to Macrospace, he was Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Domainia, an Internet services provider, after starting his career at accounting firm Westbury Schotness. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the American College, London.
Stuart joined Summix in 2018 to contribute to the firm’s growth in student accommodation, PRS and associated sectors. Stuart has wide experience of acquisitions, development and disposal, having previously worked in the role of Development Director responsible for a large number of successful student accommodation projects across the UK. Previously he has held acquisition and development positions for a regional developer and a UK national student housing company and spent 15 years in the University sector in a variety of property and commercial roles. He holds a BA (hons) and an MBA from London Metropolitan University
Andre joined Summix in 2018 to lead the in-house finance function. He brings with him sixteen years of property related experience from Financial Controller to Director. He began his career in the UK in 1989 working in a variety of sectors including Media, PR and Pathology. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa in 1987, having been articled to Deloitte Touché Johannesburg. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree.
Barry joined Summix in 2017 and has more than fourteen years of experience in the construction industry emanating from a diploma in Architecture. His previous roles include project architect and construction consultant before establishing himself as one of the UK’s most prominent BREEAM and sustainable design experts. Barry co-owns GWP Project Services, a leading sustainability consultancy and has been named BREEAM Assessor of the Year on two occasions. His clients include the NHS, PriceWaterhouseCooper, Jaguar Land Rover, DHL and a number of the country’s leading universities, including the University of Leeds and Kings College London.
Barry brings with him a detailed knowledge of the pre-construction process and design efficiency as well as a network of respected professionals who he has collaborated with on numerous award winning developments including the first Passivhaus student residential building in the UK. Barry is also guest lecturer for the BRE and the University of Newcastle and was recently awarded a fellowship of the BRE Academy.
Lee-Anne joined Summix in May 2018 providing support to both the finance and business teams. Lee-Anne has valuable experience in the commercial and finance industries, initially spending over 10 years working as a Commercial Assistant and then Commercial Manager for Tubelines/TFL, following which she spent 6 years as a Lettings Client Accountant in the property sector.
